ALL NEW HENNESSEY VENOM F5 CARBON FIBER CHASSIS
DESIGNED & ENGINEERED TO DELIVER 500+ KM/H (310+ MPH) TOP SPEED

Sealy, Texas & Silverstone, England – After an extensive two-year long engineering and development phase, the Hennessey team has done it again. The company has built an all new carbon fiber chassis that will serve as the foundation of the Venom F5.

Built entirely of carbon fiber, the all-new ground-up design has been engineered and built to propel the Venom F5 to a top speed of over 500 kilometers per hour (310.7+ mph). The new F5 chassis is both strong and light weight. Torsional rigidity has been measured at 52,000 newton meters per degree (38,353 lb-ft torque per degree) and the total weight is just 86 kilograms (190 lbs).

“Our all new carbon fiber chassis is an engineering marvel and to see it in person is like looking at a piece of artwork. It’s like a piece of automotive jewelry that’s built to run 500+ km/h,” said company founder and CEO, John Hennessey.

The first three Venom F5’s are currently in production and testing will begin in Q2 2020. The base price for the Venom F5 is $1.8 million and Hennessey is only building a total of 24 examples, 12 for the American market and 12 for international markets. US allocations are close to being sold out. The Venom F5 will make its official debut at The Quail during Monterey car week in August of this year.

Being mated to the new chassis is Hennessey Specialty Vehicles’ all-new bespoke 1,800+ hp engine called Fury. Based on classic American V8 architecture, the Hennessey Venom F5 engine produces an astounding 1817 horsepower and 1193 lb-ft of torque. It uses a combination of high-tech, lightweight engine components (crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods & custom engine block) that combine for 6.6L of displacement. Combined with a pair of Precision ball bearing twin turbochargers with 3D printed titanium compressor housings, the Venom F5 engine delivers over 1800 bhp at 8000 rpm!

Sealy, Texas (May 15, 2019)Hennessey Special Vehicles has begun building the first Venom F5, which has an all-new, light-weight carbon fiber tub. The first prototype is scheduled to begin testing later this year.

The Venom F5 prototype progress includes:

  • All new carbon fiber chassis designed and engineered by Delta Motorsport based in Silverstone, England.
  • Carbon fiber tub structure is designed to be able to operate as an open top roadster as well as hard top coupe.
  • Additionally, Hennessey will consider offering a Roadster option after coupe deliveries begin in early 2020.
  • If Venom F5 Roadster did go into production it would not happen until 2021 or later as the company is committed to building coupes through 2020.
  • Only 24 Venom F5 coupes will be offered. If a Roadster variant is offered, they would be in addition to the 24 F5 hardtop coupes and would also be more expensive than the current base price of $1.6 million.

HENNESSEY SPECIAL VEHICLES NAMES
JOHN HEINRICY AS VENOM F5 CHIEF ENGINEER

Sealy, Texas (December 18, 2018)Hennessey Special Vehicles, builders of the famed Venom GT and the upcoming Venom F5, is proud to announce it has hired the legendary John Heinricy as the full-time chief engineer for the Venom F5 program.

Heinricy has been a consultant on the program since its inception and previously consulted on Hennessey’s Venom GT program, working hand in hand with Hennessey on chassis, suspension and vehicle dynamics for the vehicle, in addition to high-speed aerodynamic testing, which led to its Guinness World Record for the fastest road legal car from 0–186 mph. Heinricy has been a consultant and test driver for Hennessey since 2010. He is now a full-time member of the Hennessey team focused on development, testing and production of the Venom F5 including its target top speed of 300 mph.

In addition to being an American legend in the motorsports and automotive industries, Heinricy spent 38 years as an engineer and executive at General Motors. He retired as the head of GM Performance Division and is also well known for being a very successful race car driver, including 15 SCCA national championships. In fact, John has more than 1,000 laps at the Nurburgring under his belt as well as being the first person to complete a sub-8-minute lap of the Nordschliefe in a production 4-door sedan. All of this has led to Heinricy earning the nickname “Heinrocket.”

“We are absolutely thrilled to have John Heinricy leading our engineering team on our Venom F5 program,” said John Hennessey. “His experience as an automotive engineer / OEM executive and racer / test driver make him uniquely qualified to be our chief engineer and to ultimately break the 300 mph barrier.”

THE HENNESSEY VENOM F5 SET TO MAKE ITS WORLDWIDE DEBUT AT
THE 2018 GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW
Shell and Pennzoil Set to Fuel and Protect Powerhouse

Houston – March 1, 2018 – Hennessey Special Vehicles, Shell and Pennzoil have teamed up to bring the Hennessey Venom F5 to one of the biggest stages in the automotive industry – the 88th Geneva International Motor Show. The hypercar is designed and built by Hennessey with the goal of being the fastest road car on earth. The Venom F5 will make its worldwide debut at the motor show on Tuesday, March 6 and continue to be on display (Stand: 1220) until the conclusion of the show on Sunday, March 18.

John Hennessey, company Founder and CEO, is known for making fast cars faster and consistently reconstructs vehicles from automotive enthusiasts and turns them into coveted raw power machines. The Venom F5 possesses the same raw power (and then some), but this vehicle is unique given that it was built from the ground up. Incorporating inimitable design features and utilizing technologically advanced products such as Pennzoil Synthetics, this vehicle is not only intended to be visually appealing, but also fulfill the need for speed that certain motorists desire.

“We partnered with Shell and Pennzoil to defy all odds and to create a vehicle that will be the fastest. Period.” said John Hennessey. “The Venom F5 combines a very low coefficient of drag of 0.33 and a curb weight of less than 3,000 lbs (1,360 kg). Pennzoil Synthetics will be pulsing through the twin turbo V8 engine that will deliver over 1,600 bhp. It’s no question of if we will break 300 mph but a question of when.”

Hennessey, Shell and Pennzoil built a relationship starting in 2014 and have since come together to build this vehicle that is on pace to re-write the record books in the industry. This car is set to turn heads with an all-new design and chassis that will also help achieve even greater performance through improved aerodynamics and technology. Hennessey will further rely on Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline to push the Venom F5 across the finish line.

“Our relationship with John and the Hennessey Special Vehicles team is mutually rewarding,” said Wolfgang Warnecke, Chief Scientist of Mobility for Shell. “Our products will be tested to their performance limits in this vehicle, enabling the Hennessey team as they look to break more records. This also allows Shell to continue to progress our own innovations while supporting this hypercar move to next level status.”

The Venom F5, which will have an exclusive production run that is limited to just 24 vehicles, will be on display (Stand: 1220) at the Geneva International Motor Show for all enthusiasts to see. Out of the 24 vehicles that will be built, there have already been 10 confirmed orders. The Geneva International Motor Show will spotlight the Venom F5 and allude to what is to come soon from Hennessey Special Vehicles, Pennzoil and Shell.
